Get to Know me Series: Day 30!

Welcome back to Day 30 of my Get to Know me Series, the final day! I hope that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this helped you get an idea of who I am, and that you enjoyed the ride as much as I did! So, without further ado, on to the last challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 30: Someone you miss.

(WOW horrible picture of me) My good friend, Jaime. She lives farther away (she moved home after college at Shepherd) and I haven't seen her for a really long time! We need to get together soon!

Pinterest Day 30: One thing you're excited for.

Baseball season!!!

That's it! We made it!

Get to Know me Series: Day 29

Welcome back to Day 29 of my Get to Know me Series! This is the second to last post of my series! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 29: Picture that makes you smile.

Every time I look at this photo I think back to just how long I've known my Hubby. This was taken the summer of 8th grade, or 1998 (I think). We've known each other for 14 years! And we loved each other back then, and love each other now! I'm so glad that we had the chance to reconnect, and now we have this beautiful family and I couldn't ask for more!

Pinterest Day 29: Five wierd things that you like.

1. The smell of gasoline.
2. Plain potato chips and ketchup.
3. Fountain soda Mountain dew and peanut butter cookies from Subway.
4. Ranch dressing with my pizza.
5. Potato chips on my sandwiches.

My Get to Know me Series is coming to an end! Tomorrow is the last post! Whatever will I do?? I hope this has created a habit and now I will be more faithful with posting at least once a day!

Get to Know me Series: Day 28

Welcome back to Day 28 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 2 more days! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 28: Something you're afraid of.

I believe I already covered this, but I'll add one more thing.

Ladders. Anything more than 4 steps and I get VERY nervous. Now it's not an irrational fear, I don't start shaking or anything, and I've been up in very high places and have been fine (like the Eiffel Tower in King's Dominion) but it's kinda different. I don't know how those construction people hang off of buildings all day like it's nothing, or how my Dad climbs telephone poles. I did a rock climbing thing once and was SUPER SCARED. Never again.

Pinterest Day 28: Somewhere you'd like to move or visit.

Someday we'd like to move to Sayreville, NJ.

All I know is that it's an hour or so from New York City. About 45 minutes from the Jets stadium, it's a nice BIG city, and it has about 4 Outbacks in a 40 mile radius. So, plenty of jobs for me, an opportunity for Hubby to get a job in the city and make lots of money, and a good school system for Natalie. Not to mention HELLO we're 45 mins from The Meadowlands??? How awesome!!

See you tomorrow for the second to last of my series!

Get to Know me Series: Day 27

Welcome back to Day 27 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 3 more days left! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 27: Picture of you when you were little.

That's my little sister on the left, and me on the right. I think I was about 5 here, and my sister is around 12 months old in this photo. Look my my nightgown! I loved that thing, and our flutter ponies!

Pinterest Day 27: A quote you try to live by. ( I have a few)

"Never allow someone to be your priority, while allowing yourself to be their option."
"Be who you are and say what you feel because people who mind, dont matter and those who matter don't mind"
"Close your eyes, clear your heart, let it go"
"Clear eyes, full hearts, CAN'T LOSE!"

Get to Know me Series: Day 26

Welcome back to Day 26 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 4 more days left! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 26: You and a family member.

This is me, Hubby, and his grandmother, Natalie's great-Nana (or just Nana) back on our wedding day in 2009. We just love her for all the things that she has done and is still doing for Natalie and our family, from babysitting to buying her the coolest toys on the block! We love you, Nan!

Pinterest Day 26: Things you like and don't like about yourself.

LIKE:

My hair (though I am growing it back out, and am going to get my bangs cut and highlights put in soon!)
My face (when I have makeup on I look pretty good - not to mention I was blessed to get MOST of my pimples out of the way in grade school, so now I hardly EVER have to wash my face and I still never break out!)
My legs (for being a bigger girl I still think my legs look pretty good!)
My butt (ditto what I just said about my legs)
My hands and my perfect size 7 ring fingers (I can try on any ring in a jewelery store! FUN!)
My personality (I like to be positive and see others around me smile)

DISLIKE:

My belly area (obvious reasons - don't worry! Fixing that!)
My boobs (Hubby likes them - what guy wouldn't. But they're too big and they hurt my back)
My obsession with pleasing everyone and hating when people are mad at me
My ease in trusting people
My gullibility

See you tomorrow!

Get to Know me Series: Day 25

Welcome back to Day 25 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 5 more days left! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 25: Something that means alot to you.

Thoughtfulness. Anytime someone stops me to tell me that they like what I'm wearing or that my baby is cute it makes my day. The other day a really good friend to me said, "You know when you smile, you are so beautful!" She almost made me cry with her kindness!

Pinterest Day 25: Something you're currently worrying about.

Our car. It's on its last legs...and I don't know how much longer it will last. Not only that, but we need it to last because we need to get a second vehicle and we can't have the first one crapping out on us!

Wow. Boring one! Tomorrow will be better!

Get to Know me Series: Day 24

Welcome back to Day 24 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 6 more days left! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 24: Picture of your day.

Oh man. Today would have been the perfect day to actually take a picture because I was so busy! But the only one I have is this:

Doesn't she look like a little jazzerciser?
Pinterest Day 24: Five words/phrases that make you laugh. (oooo this one is hard, I laugh at anything and everything!)

1. Elmer Fudd: WaaaaBIT. This Diwector's weally wubbing me the wong way!
2. The Geico Pig: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
3. PHENOMINAL COSMIC POWERS!!!  Ittybittylivingspace.
4. You don't even KNOW! (If you can tell where that comes from you're my new best friend!)
5. Jeff DUN HAM DOT COM! (LOVE Peanut - once you go purple you never go back!)

See you tomorrow for Day 25!

Get to Know me Series: Day 23

Welcome back to Day 23 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 7 more days left! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 23: Something you wish you could change.

I'm so sorry for the overlap here. I don't want to change anything about my life. It all happened for a purpose and brought me to where I am today, and that is a very good place.

Pinterest Day 23: Something that you miss.

COLORGUARD. I miss it every day. I miss throwing a flag in the air and learning to spin a rifle and a sabre. I miss the music and the marching and the community it builds around you. I miss my friends that did it with me. I have very fond memories.

Get to Know me Series: Day 22

Welcome back to Day 22 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 8 more days left! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.
Day 22: Your favorite book.

I don't have one. I am a bookworm and I love to read. I love anything by Fern Michaels, Nora Roberts, the Harry Potter Series, His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman (The Golden Compass trilogy) the Twilight Series, and I could go on and on. I just borrowed a few Stephen King novels to see if I like him, but mostly I like adventure and romance novels.

Pinterest Day 22: Your academics.

So far I have an associate's degree in Medical Transcription. I have been toying with the idea in my head of going to nursing school. I have also been thinking about Pharmacy Technician Certifications. I just don't know. All I know is that I can't serve for the rest of my life, and that if I go back to school at least I can get my student loans deferred for a little while.
See you tomorrow for Day 23! I honestly don't know what I'm going to do when this series is over! What will I write about??

Get to Know me Series: Day 21

Welcome back to Day 21 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 9 more days left! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.

Day 21: Something you wish you were better at.

Hmm, there's a list:

1. Singing
2. Dancing
3. Crafting
4. Sewing (though this would definately improve if I had a sewing machine)
5. Scrapbooking
6. Drawing
7. Baking
8. Cooking
9. Photography
10. Exercising

I think I'll stop there.....because now I feel like a complete loser lol

Pinterest Day 21: How you hope your future will be like.

Wonderful. I hope someday I can retire - from whatever my career ends up being. I hope someday to have three beautiful kids, two girls and a boy. I hope that they have beautiful kids. I hope to have my dream home, and fill it with family and love on the holidays (and decorate it top to bottom too!) I hope to have a happy life with my hubby, and to always be together. I hope to know my great-grandchildren. I hope to one day to live debt-free. I hope to be able to support my children and help when needed. I hope for a good, happy, love-filled life. And my dream house...I already said that didn't I?

Day 21 Complete! See you tomorrow!

Get to Know me Series: Day 20

Welcome back to Day 20 of my Get to Know me Series! Only 10 more days left! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges! You can find a list of them here.
Day 20: Something you wish you could forget.

Hmm. I really don't think there is anything from my life that I wish I could forget. Everything that has happened has happened for a reason and has taught me a lesson in some form or another.

Except maybe Justin Bieber. I can forget him. And Lady Gaga, and maybe Amy Winehouse too. Yeah.

Pinterest Day 20: Your fears.

1. Dying - this is the big/main one. I didn't have a really strong faith, and still really don't. I want to believe that we go to heaven and see all our loved ones again, but in reality - no one knows. And I am afraid of the unknown. I'm also just afraid of not being HERE anymore. I want to stay.

2. Being alone

3. Getting robbed/kidnapped/etc. etc.

Think that's about it! Kinda boring today, see you tomorrow and look for a Christmas Recap Part Uno later tonight or tomorrow morning!

Get to Know me Series: Day 19

Welcome back to Day 19 of my Get to Know me Series! We are more than halfway through now! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges!

Day 19: Somewhere you'd love to travel.

Since I already covered Paris, and France I will choose another place that I really want to go.

Austrailia and New Zealand.

I've wanted to go to New Zealand ever since I did a report on it in Elementary School. I'm in love with these two countries. I want to go and learn to surf, and I want to see a Kiwi in person. (not the fruit, the bird) And I want to pet a Koala and see wild Kangaroos. Someday I will go.

Pinterest Day 19: Five items you lust after.

1. A kitchenaid mixer. I love the one the Pioneer Woman keeps giving away. God, I wish I could win one of these babies!

2. A good set of pots and pans. Either Paula Deen (left) or Rachel Ray (right)

3. A mommy necklace. I like this one from Simple Starfish. This exact necklace with Hubby, Natalie and my name on it (the one in the picture even has the right birthstones already!)

4. This purse is super hard to track down. I'm hoping I can find it before it's too late. I might have to start looking on ebay.

5. A new car. Preferrably this one - a Hyaundi Santa Fe.

Get to Know me Series: Day 18

Welcome back to Day 18 of my Get to Know me Series! We are more than halfway through now! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges!

Day 18: Your biggest insecurity.

Faith in myself. I always seem to think to myself, "You can't do this, what are you thinking?" I really need to work on it, and I'm trying.

Pinterest Day 18: A problem that you've had.

Hmm. Well, I suppose I could say that I have a problem with motivation. I just don't like to clean. I would rather play with the baby and surf the internet. I know I'm bad, but I can't seem to change. I hope that I can fix it soon, or my house might be condemned! (Not really, but I really do need to get motivated in all aspects of my life! Cleaning, exercise, etc.)

Day 18 Complete!

P.S. - I hope everyone is having a very nice Christmas! I know we are =)

Get to Know me Series: Day 17

Welcome back to Day 17 of my Get to Know me Series! We are more than halfway through now! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges!

Day 17: Someone that has made a huge impact on your life.

My mom. We have had our ups and our downs, but we have been through ALOT together. She taught me everything I needed to know that's cliche about living on your own: laundry, sewing, etc. etc. and I thank her so much for that.

I know she is lovin' bein a Grandma almost as much as I love being a mom! If it wasn't for my mom, I don't think I would be the person I am today, and even though our relationship isn't perfect, she will always be my mom! =)

Pinterest Day 17: Something that you're proud of.

Sticking on the same subject: I am proud of who I have become as a person. No, I don't have my dream job. But I'm working, and I'm not living off of assistance. No, I am not a size 0, supermodel. But I'm not obese and I eat relatively healthy. No, I'm not the perfect mom, and at times I get frustrated and need a break. But, I love my daughter and she will ALWAYS know that. No, I'm not the perfect wife, sometimes I get frustrated and need a break and take it out on Hubby. But, he knows that I love him and wouldn't trade him for the world. I am proud of the individual who I have become. I know I have more learning and growing to go, but that's part of life!

Day 17 complete!

Get to Know me Series: Day 16

Welcome back to Day 16 of my Get to Know me Series! We are more than halfway through now! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges!
Day 16: Someone who inspires you.

Kelle Hampton from Enjoying the Small Things.

I was turned on to her blog a few months ago. I read the beautiful story about the birth of Nella (to read it yourself click here) and it struck me. While my situation is NO WAY as serious as hers (Natalie was premature being born  - she was almost born at 30 weeks, but managed to hold on almost two more weeks)  but I related to her feelings of hopelessness at the diagnosis of Down Syndrome (I was so scared for Natalie when I was told she was going to be in the NICU) and then her overwhelming love for her daughter. I love how she is so in love with her daughters Lainey and Nella, and reading her blog makes me hope to be the kind of mother that she is. She is an amazing mom. She inspires me to be a better mom. (even though I am just getting the hang of the basics and have it completely easy right now) I hope to one day do just SOME of the things that she does with her girls!

DISCLAIMER: Kelle Hampton has NO idea who I am. This is a shameless plug to her blog because I love it, and want everyone else to read it to. I hope that she takes it as a compliment if she sees it.
Pinterest Day 16: Something you always think "what if" about.

Well, this has to do with college. When I originally graduated high school, I moved to South Carolina and started going to a school called Gardner-Webb University. I was going to be a Radio DJ and started there the fall after graduation. A week before I had to move onto campus, I got married so that I wouldn't have to, and could live off campus with my boyfriend/husband. I ended up trying to work full time and go to school full time, and I ended up falling asleep on my books more often than not. I finally gave up and quit going to school. I dropped out, I failed, and that's something that sticks with me.

What if I had moved in on campus and focused more on school than work/my relationship? Yeah, we might've broken up, but that probably would've been a good thing since we ended up divorced anyway. What if I HAD become a radio DJ? Would I still be in South Carolina, or somewhere else living a dream?

That whole experience changed my whole chain of life events, and I wouldn't have it any other way, because I met my current husband and have my daughter, and I learned alot from my experience, but I still regret not getting that four-year college experience and going after my dream job.

Oh well. Day 16 complete!

Get to Know me Series: Day 15

Welcome back to Day 15 of my Get to Know me Series! We are halfway through now! I am hoping that since I'm trying to get my blog "out" into the world, that this will help you get an idea of who I am. On with the challenges!

Day 15: Something you want to do before you die.

See the Eifell Tower in Paris. I want to see all of France actually. Paris, Marseilles, Nice, Lyons, the castles, the Louvre, Le Champs De Elysee, everything.

Maybe someday when I finish learning Francais.
Pinterest Day 15: Your zodiac and if you think it fits your personality.

Scorpio Strength Keywords:

- Loyal (I agree)- Passionate (I agree)
- Resourceful (I agree)
- Observant (I agree)
- Dynamic (I agree)
Scorpio Weakness Keywords:
- Jealous (I agree)
- Obsessive (I agree)
- Suspicious (I agree)
- Manipulative (I agree)
- Unyielding (I agree)

AGREE:

fiercely independent.
They are able to accomplish anything they put their mind to
they won't give up.
they like to be in control.
moody for no reason
hold a grudge against someone who did them harm forever
need for vengeance (In some cases, yes)
always remembers a kind gesture and repays it
honesty and trust is extremely important
intense emotions and feelings
fear of failure
can sense fakeness
interested in everything, hard to find something I don't like
Have problems distinguishing humor and offensiveness

DISAGREE:

They are perfectly suited to being on their own.
They are not social butterflies
prefer to live on their own
rarely forgives and forgets (I do the forgiving part pretty easy)
Excellent memory (HA! this is definately not me)
Reluctant to trust people

What it's Like to Date a Scorpio Woman:

Scorpio woman is very emotional, very demanding and very demonstrative. She is full of flair and intrigue, a fascinating woman that the strong A-type personality male will adore, for she presents the right amount of challenge with the right amount of rewards. The Scorpio woman is the ultimate seductive, flirtatious woman. She won't give a man her heart very easily because she is weary of trusting another person. The man will have to go through a series of 'mental testes' in order for the relationship to get solid and close. She may not show it, but she wants a close committed relationship. In order for this, the man has to be trusted, has to be affectionate and never try to control her. She is very possessive but the Scorpio woman is so full of mystery, sensuality and passion that most men do not mind being possessed by her.

I agree with this almost 100%.

And there you have it! Day 15 complete!

Get to Know me Series: Day 14

Welcome back to Day 14 of my Get to Know me Series! I'm hoping to keep up with this and post EVERY day for 30 days, as a way of letting you into my life a little bit.

Day 14: Someone you can't imagine your life without.

I think it's pretty obvious that my daughter would be the answer to this question. I love her, more than words can describe, and I truly, TRULY cannot imagine her not being in my life. I hope that we have a close relationship, and that there is never a week that goes by that we don't at least talk.

Pinterest Day 14:

What you wore today.

Since it was a dreary day and it's too cold to take Natalie to see Santa (today is the last day we could do it too...because I work every night from tomorrow to Christmas Day - boo.) I stayed in my PJs today. And I'm not showing you that because....well, it's embarrassing. lol

Get to Know me Series: Day 13

Welcome back to Day 13 of my Get to Know me Series! I'm hoping to keep up with this and post EVERY day for 30 days, as a way of letting you into my life a little bit.
Day 13: Your favorite artist.

This is a three way tie.

The first would be the singer that I wanted to be growing up, and have listened to since her first album.

Yep. Britney. I know the girl's had problems, but what human being doesn't? And it's just that hers were so publicized that it made it worse. And I have yet to hear one of her songs that I don't like or don't end up liking and singing along to. And, yeah I know she has her ups and downs, but isn't she GORGEOUS?? Jealous.

Next, the band I have been listening to the longest.

Hanson. Make fun of me, go ahead, but they're not what you remember. At ALL. In fact, they're amazing. They sing, play, record, and produce EVERYTHING they make. And it's certainly not MMMBop anymore, their records are soulful and their lyrics are deep and meaningful. I just love them, and I hope they make music FOREVER.

And finally, the band I can't get enough of.

Paramore.

They're having some band troubles right now. And I hope they get through them, because I can't imagine not having them around. (Not to mention I've already been through that countless times with Dream, Danity Kane, Destiny's Child, etc. and I can't take losing another band to a breakup!) Not to mention Hayley is a serious Twilight fan, and that is bonus points! =)

Pinterest Day 13: Your opinion on your body and how comfortable you are with it.

Hmm. This is a seriously tough one. I'll just say this. I have no excuses. Yes, I was on birth control that made me gain weight, but I didn't do anything to stop it. Yes, I got off the birth control and got pregnant three months later, but since having Natalie I haven't done anything to lose it. (Not that I gained any with her because I didn't - I lost and then gained back, and ended up at the same weight beginning and end) Every time I start exercise, I do good for a few weeks or a month or two, and then give up. I don't eat healthy, and can't really afford to. (BAD excuse, I know.)

That being said, I'm surviving. I'm under 200. I'm over 190. I'm not happy about it, but when I put makeup on and clothes on and look in the mirror, I'm....satisfied. I think I look....ok. But photograph me? If it's a full body shot I hate it. If you don't give me time to prepare and suck as much in as I can, then I'm unhappy. I hate how big my boobs look in pictures and wish for a breast reduction. Then I think, "Well, dummy, if you'd just exercise you'd lose some of that."

So I guess I'll say, I'm comfortable....but not happy. And 99% of the time I'm ok with my body, and then there are days where I envy size 0's (like my best friend) and wish for a body like that.

But I'll get more into that later.

The office supply row in ANY store. Seriously. I have a problem, a serious addiction to pens, paper, journals, file folders, staplers, paper clips - the prettier the better! Bright colored folders and sharpies of every color - I am OBSESSED with office supplies. I don't know how to stop! HELP!

Pinterest Day 11: Five guys you find attractive.

1. Mark Whalberg.

2. Ben Browder

3. Channing Tatum

Justin Bieber hair. All the little boys are doing it. And it looks STUPID. NEVER will I let my little boy do his hair like that. NEVER.

Pinterest Day 11: Your family

Well I think I already have this pretty well covered. See my Hello, Blogworld post.
