Hey there, and welcome to The Growing Tree! I'm so glad that you decided to read more about me and my family! Here goes:
First there's me -
Rachael: a wife, a momma of two beautiful kiddos,
and a furmomma to 3 doggies and 3 kitties. I may not be the best writer in the
world but I try my best. I am an educated lady. (I like to say that) I am a girlie girl through and through. I have a wonderful job with a wonderful friend and I couldn't ask for anything more! (Well, other than not HAVING to work at all and being able to stay home with my kids!) My husband has taught me well in the world of sports, and I can
hold my own in a conversation about football, and hockey. I love the New Jersey Devils. My NFL team is the New York Jets. I am clumsy as all get out, and always seem to have random bruises and not know how they got there. Trains are my mortal enemy - if I'm late, or if I'm way early I will get stuck by one. Count on it. I am a fiercely loyal person, and most people say I am too nice. I am obsessed with Instagram, and I am totally team Facebook. (I just can't get the hang of Twitter - and it's just too fast paced for me) I am a sucker for a Snickers bar. I like Starbucks Caramel Macchiatos but prefer their Hot Chocolate. Chili's is our favorite restaurant. Chic Fil-a is my go-to drive thru. (I HATE Sundays!) Watermelon is my favorite fruit. I am random, and most of the time my thoughts are scattered all over the place. My favorite thing about fall is Ginger Snaps. Mountain Dew is my addiction. I adore anything hot pink, purple, and teal, and everything with polka dots. I am a wannabe bigtime blogger/cook/photographer/crafter and I adore the Pioneer Woman, Giada De Laurentiis, and Rachael Ray. I dabble in friendship bracelets and other jewelry, but don't have the time to commit to it right now. I am SO interested in interior design: I have so many ideas for our future home, and I already have a floor plan drawn out. I am a nail polish junkie! Seriously, you should see my collection. I and a Runner-in-training. I want to run a marathon someday. I have a ton of empty journals just waiting to be written in, but no idea what to write in them. In spite of that, I also have an incessant need to write everything
down, and I love the idea of documenting my life, my husbands life, and my
children's lives, so that we can go back and read it later, perhaps relive some
old memories and have it right here - in detail.
My husband Mike is my world, and the reason I am into sports of all
different kinds. Football, basketball, hockey, baseball, college football,
wrestling - he watches it ALL. That is HIS whole world, with me on the side. Not
that that's a bad thing, because I don't have to compete....much. He is an xbox
FOOL, and he has something like a bajillion gamer score points. He is a joker
and a macho man. He is eccentric, lovable, and loudmouthed , but a big softie on the inside. He is a wonderful father. He is
my one true love. Here we are on July 5, 2009, our wedding day:
Our beautiful little girl entered into our lives on July 15, 2011, and has been the light of our world ever since! She is so much fun and she is so smart! I know that if you continue to read you will hear lots more about Little Miss Natalie!
This handsome little man completed our family on July 3, 2013 and instantly stole my heart! He is cuddly, sweet, and smells like brand new baby, and he is perfect! He is my little buddy, and he is definitely a momma's boy!
This is my grumpy old man. He's not really grumpy, he's actually quite a lovebug. He has been with me since the beginning of my adult life, and has moved with me over 20 times! I love him so much it hurts.
This is my teddy bear kitty. He is my cuddlebug! He is usually the first one to greet me at the door and the first one to want love when I get home. He is also amazing with Natalie, and takes quite a lot of abuse from her!
Sammie is my savior kitty. I was really hurting after the sudden loss of my two year old kitten, Indy, and she wandered into my husband's work one day and we knew it was meant to be. Mike doesn't really care for her, but I don't care. She's mine and I love her.
We rescued our wonderful husky, and he is most loving boy.. He has such a great personality! He was actually scheduled to be put down, and the warden saved him because he was so beautiful. We agree!
This is Vala, our beagle pup. She is so sweet! We got her in order to keep Marty company and because we needed a dog that could keep up with him! Her legs may be small, but man can she run!
Last but not least, our high strung, clingy yet cute, Zilla. He is the offspring of our babies and he is FUN. He is loving, and crazy, and we love him very much!
And there you have it! We have quite a zoo, but it's our zoo and we love it! Thanks for coming with me on our journey down the stream! Because life is but a dream, so row merrily!
I would love for you to say hi, so if you would like to, you can email me at:
