So not only is today Cameron's due date, but today is my first day back at work. I am so missing this little face:
But I know that I need to be at work. Gotta love not having paid maternity leave. Since I am currently nostalgic, I thought I would take this time to write down Cameron's birth story, for the record.
It all started the morning of July 2nd. My doctor agreed to induce me at 38 weeks. So, we spent the night with Natalie and took her up to Nana's house, and headed in to the hospital to get ready. I got in my gown and got in the bed, and proceeded to wait.
My best friend arrived a little while later, and hung out most of the day with me. Her and hubby took turns walking with me after receiving my first dose of medication that was supposed to thin everything out and jump start labor. I sat on the birthing ball a little bit, and after the second dose, and two hours in bed, I started walking again.
My sister arrived later on in the afternoon and hung out with me. She would be staying all night until I had Cameron, and my mom was watching her kids.
About 6:00 they started the Pitocin. At first nothing happened. It was a lot more waiting. Jess (my best friend) had to leave for work, and at the time there wasn't anything going on.
All at once everything started happening. At first, I thought that I could handle the contractions. Then one came, and I remember saying "oh...this is what it felt like all day with Natalie." Then another one. This one hurt - badly. Then they just started getting worse and worse, and I remember something setting me off and I started crying, and compounded with the pain I just couldn't stop crying. I remember squeezing my sisters hand so tight and looking at her, but not really seeing her. In the time of four contractions, my body had gone from 0 to 100 miles an hour and it was only going to get worse.
I had originally wanted to try and make it without an epidural. Well, I am here to tell you that every single person in that room was trying to talk me into it, and I finally gave in. In between tears, contractions, my heaving chest, and my nose (which I actually asked to blow before they inserted the epidural in my back) they proceeded to stick a needle in my back. While it hurt, it was NOTHING compared to what I had just been through. Hubby held my hands and my hair, and told me I was beautiful and he was so proud of me, and helped me through holding still for the time I needed to.
It was the smartest thing I have ever been talked into. Within minutes my whole lower body was a limp noodle and I couldn't feel a thing. She had said to me that I might get some feeling back after the initial dose, but let me tell you I never felt a THING. My legs were two tons - EACH. Instantly I felt amazing enough to close my eyes and try and get some sleep, with Hubby in the chair beside me holding my hand. (at least I think that's where he was) I was out for what felt like two hours, but it was maybe 30 minutes.
Around midnight they woke me up, checked me and said that I was ready to go. Jess was getting off of work, and I asked them if I could wait for her to get there before I started pushing. They agreed, and soon after she arrived, we started. Now, keep in mind that I said my legs were two ton sticks of jello. I could not lift them for the life of me. So, I had my sister holding one leg, and Mike holding the other, and we started to push. Mike said he was thrown off by this, but I don't think any of us was expecting me not to be able to hold my legs.
I'm guessing that I was pushing for around an hour. I don't remember much of it. I know that they ended up giving me oxygen while I was pushing, and I ended up at one point yelling at the nurse.
All I have to say is that woman needed to learn how to count in rapid succession! It seemed like she would either skip numbers or have a big ol' pause in between numbers, until she frustrated me enough to yell "YOU COUNT TOO SLOW!!" Mike says she was counting fine, it was just my imagination. But, seriously, I couldn't breathe, and she was asking me to hold my breath and push WAY past a count of ten, and then wouldn't give me two breaths in between pushes! UGH!
I do remember the doctor getting up and leaving, though how long she was gone I don't know (hubby says it was almost a half hour and he was wondering IF she was even coming back!) but eventually she was back.
So, I remember almost feeling like I was close to the end (even if I couldn't feel anything) and I got a second wind. I pushed four times instead of three, and in the middle of the last push they told me to stop, because the cord was actually around his neck. Luckily everything was easily fixed, and they pulled him the rest of the way out! He was here! They put him on my chest and dried him off. Mike cut the cord and then (bless them!! best thing ever!) they let me continue to hold him! If you know the story about Natalie you know that she was wisked away from me almost immediately after birth, because she was premature, so this was such a wonderful thing to be able to bond with him almost immediately!
Eventually, they took him so that they could do all the measurements and give him his first bath, which I watched from the bed. Then Mike dressed him in his first outfit, and fed him. I, however, was complaining about losing a bit of my vision, and I was just exhausted, so I leaned my head back and I believe slept for about 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, everyone helped move our stuff over to the room we would be staying in, and eventually the nurse woke me up and asked me if I could feel my legs at all. I could feel my right one a bit, but my left leg was still numb. So, the nurse brought over the wheelchair and got me into the bathroom and cleaned up, and then took me over to our room to get settled in. I got into the bed, got settled, and so did Mike and so begins his little life!
We snuggled a little bit that night, and the next day he was visited and loved by many of his family! He is a very happy baby, and I am loving him to pieces!
I miss him already!!
Welcome to the world, little buddy! Momma and Daddy love you!!

Baby Cameron Update
We might be insane. No, I'm pretty sure we are insane.
Let me clarify:
Hubby and I are taking Natalie on a four hour trip to Jersey this weekend. Mike won tickets to the NHL draft being hosted at the Prudential Center (home to the Devils - our team) and they are providing us with VIP passes, swag bags, possible floor seating and lots of things for little kids to do as well, which I am thinking Natalie is going to have a blast! It is her first long car ride, and it is going to be a little uncomfortable for me, but we're going up the night before, stopping halfway to eat, and staying in a hotel that has a pool and free wifi and TODDLER BEDS so that is really cool. We are also staying the night after the draft as well in the same hotel, and then going home in the morning, so I'm really not all that worried. It is going to be a lot of fun. But, at the same time I am almost 38 weeks pregnant. I hope I don't go into labor while we're up there, but if I do we'll figure it out. I'm not holding my breath because Cameron seems to be pretty dang comfy.
So comfy in fact, that they are going to be inducing me! I will work a half a day on Monday and then Tuesday morning we go in!
And so, Cameron's birthday will hopefully be July 2, 2013 or July 3, 2013, almost two weeks before his sister's second birthday. I think we will be allowed to go home on the 4th of July more than likely, which is perfect because I picked out fourth of July outfits for both Cameron and Natalie and they match perfectly! I can't wait to dress them both in their outfits!
It's real and it's really happening! I'm not sure whether to freak out, or be excited, or FREAK OUT! In FOUR days I will have my first (and possibly last) boy, my second (and possibly LAST) child, and Natalie will finally be a big sister!
I can't wait!!
So, forgive me if I fall off the face of the blogging world for a while, in order to take in the smell of my new squishy and enjoy some MUCH needed time to rest, love, and be with my family. Because that's what it's all about!
Please excuse the horrible bathroom selfie... this is probably the last preggo picture I will ever take, except maybe one Tuesday morning. =)
See you later lovebugs,
Rachael

33 Weeks 6 Days
Today shouldn't be a big deal, but I feel like it shouldn't go by unmentioned here. Today is the exact day in my pregnancy with Natalie that I went into labor, and about 8 hours later, she was born.
She was born seven weeks early.
I would like to say that I'm not nervous at all, but that would be a lie. I feel better this time. Healthier. But I'm still a little nervous about him sticking around in there a little longer. He needs to stay in at least another two weeks or more. After 36 weeks, I am not worried. He could come at any time. I, of course, am hoping for the end of June. Mike keeps saying that he is convinced that he is coming on June 30th, which couldn't be any better for me. Ida's birthday is on June 26, so that is ok with me too. I just want him to have his own birth month. I would really love for them to be born in separate months.
Of course, none of this matters. Regardless of how many jumping jacks I do or do not do, he is going to come when he is ready to come, and it really isn't up to me.
All I care about it that it isn't ANY time soon.
See you later lovebugs,
Rachael

Baby Cameron: Bump Update
I am totally embarrassed. I have been horrible these past few weeks about taking bump photos! Here is one from a few weeks ago, and one I snapped yesterday via my phone, since I have nothing better to show...
Last you heard, they were thinking I had Gestational Diabetes. Well, they were right. The first week, the medication worked pretty well and the days that I had high sugars I knew exactly why. These past two weeks, it's been harder, and my doctor is threatening me with the word Insulin, so I think shots may be in my not-so-distant future.
Other than that, I have been feeling pretty good most days. Other than low energy, I really do feel relatively normal, and I'm not really worried about going into pre-term labor like I did with Natalie anymore. She was born at 33 weeks 6 days, so that day is coming up. Once we get past that, I think I will feel better.
How far along? 32 weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain/loss: Around 15 pounds still. I haven't gained too much at all, it just seems to be re-distributing (kinda like last time)
Maternity clothes? Yes. Pants and tops, and a maxi dress! =)
Stretch marks? Yes.
Symptoms: heartburn, acne, tiredness, aches, charley horses in my toes and legs
Sleep: Getting more uncomfortable. I toss and turn and throw my leg pillow away, and I always wake up hot and sweaty no matter how cold it is in the room!
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby at my ultrasound again, he is now around 4 lbs!
Have you told family and friends? Yes, everyone knows! It would be a little hard to keep it a secret at this point!
Miss anything? Sleeping on my tummy, not feeling tired all the time. Stretching, and being able to walk around without feeling pain/pressure. I also miss being able to indulge in pregnancy cravings.
Movement: Tons. Mostly after I eat! More sharp movements now that he's getting squished when he switches from head up to head down.
Food Cravings: Ice cream (chocolate marshmallow), Chocolate milk, chocolate candy, Starbursts, Wheat thins, Fruit, pickles, (Yes I'm a stereotypical preggo!) Thin Mints, and also an adversion to red meat. I'd much rather have salad, seafood (no sushi or salmon though - I'm talkin crabmeat YUM) or chicken lately. Also spicy food: buffalo chicken, salsa, hot sauce on tacos, etc.
Not so new: White cheddar popcorn, regular popcorn, pb&j sandwiches, Mt. Dew. and Starbucks hot chocolate.
NEW: sugar free chocolate pudding
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really, I just stay away from anything that looks like it might make me icky.
Have you started to show yet? Oh yes. It has been obvious for weeks now!
Baby is a: Bouncing baby boy!! Cameron Glenn =)
Belly Button in or out: Not much left! I think it may pop out soon!
Wedding rings on or off? Still on but getting tighter. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to keep them on comfortably. I kept them on all the way through delivery with Natalie so hopefully I will be able to do that with this one as well. I don't know how I would feel if I couldn't wear them!!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Ask my hubby and he would probably say moody, but other than having no sleep and being cranky I think I'm still a pretty happy camper. My Natalie keeps me smiling!
Looking forward to: My maternity photos this Sunday! My PA trip the next weekend to meet some of my Knottie girls, and my baby shower the following weekend!! =)
NOT looking forward to: Doctors changing my medication to Insulin, which is sounds like is more likely than not at this point. I've never had to stick myself with a needle, and I don't know if I can handle it. Also not looking forward to the weekly doctors visits which means MORE time I have to take off work, and starting at 34 weeks I have to go in TWICE a week, so that they can monitor his heart rate I think. Ugh. Why can't I just be pregnant? Why do they have to take all the fun out of it!? (Sorry, rant over lol)
That's all for now! Look for another update soon!
See you later lovebugs,
Rachael

Baby Cameron: Bump Update
I really have to apologize, I have been a very bad mommy and only have this week's bump photos to show for the last four weeks! =( My lovely co-worker went on vacation and I suck a selfies, so thus...no bump photos. Not to worry, we are back on track!!
How far along? 28 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: Around 15 pounds.
Maternity clothes? Yes. Pants and tops, although I was able to find quite a few tops from Walmart that will do. Loose fitting, and lots of long camis!
Stretch marks? The beginnings, but I don't mind so much. I am pretty sure my days of bikini wear is over, but I'm still putting cocoa butter lotion on them....when I can remember.
Symptoms: HEARTBURN. Seriously. If the wives tales are right, this kid will have four TIMES the hair his sister did! Acne....I feel like I'm 15 again. Oh how I hate those little bumps, and I can't EVER leave them alone!! Oh, and leg cramps/restless legs. Ugh, I hate it.
Sleep: Sleep is still good most nights. I'm starting to get used to not sleeping on my belly, although I REALLY miss it.
Best moment this week: Seeing the baby again, and knowing that he is TWO POUNDS already!
Have you told family and friends? Yes, everyone knows! It would be a little hard to keep it a secret at this point!

NOT looking forward to: Having to change my eating if I do have GD, and having to prick my fingers four times a day. I just did my three hour glucose test today, so I should know for sure soon.

Baby Cameron: Bump Photos
I see pregnant bloggers fill out little surveys about baby, so I thought I would do that about once a month (since every week is a little bit of overkill and I don't have time for that!)
Here goes:
How far along? 24 weeks 1 day (I don't have a picture for 24 weeks yet though, so that will go up next time!)
Total weight gain/loss: So far just 7 lbs or so.
Maternity clothes? Yes. Pants definitely - I started wearing those a few weeks ago. I'm still trying to fit into normal shirts but I won't be able to do it for much longer!
Stretch marks? Thankfully no, but I have about 5 from last time. I'm hoping that I don't get too many more!
Symptoms: Does exhaustion count? Seriously, tired ALL. THE. TIME. And a tad of nausea here and there, but nothing too bad. Heartburn like CRAZY.
Sleep: It's starting to get more uncomfortable sleeping at night, and I miss sleeping on my belly!
Best moment this week: Hubby getting to feel baby move for the first time. He didn't seem too impressed but I'm hoping he starts to like it more!
Have you told family and friends? Yes, everyone knows! It would be a little hard to keep it a secret at this point!
Miss anything? Normal clothes, having energy, sleeping well, and not having heartburn!!
Movement: Man feels like baby is doing summersaults in there half the time! Lots of kicking and punching!
Food Cravings: Ice cream (chocolate), Chocolate milk, chocolate candy, Starbursts, Wheat thins, Fruit, pickles, (Yes I'm a stereotypical preggo!) Thin Mints, and also an adversion to red meat. I'd much rather have salad, seafood (no sushi or salmon though - I'm talkin crabmeat YUM) or chicken lately. Also spicy food: buffalo chicken, salsa, hot sauce on tacos, etc.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really, I just stay away from anything that looks like it might make me icky.
Have you started to show yet? Oh yes. It has been obvious for weeks now!
Baby is a: Bouncing baby boy!! Cameron Glenn =)
Belly Button in or out: It's starting to get shallower, but still in for now.
Wedding rings on or off? Still on.
Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound and getting to see Cameron on screen again! We can't afford a 4D ultrasound, but it will be nice to see his little nose again, and compare it to our girls!
There you have it! Everything you wanted (or didn't want) to know about my growing little boy!! Look for another update April 25th!
Until later lovebugs,
Rachael

Gender Reveal Party: The Details
I had so much fun at this party, and my wonderful friend Ida took pictures for me! Click here to visit her Facebook page, she is amazing! Tell her I sent you and say hello!
Without further ado, here is my party!
The day started with hanging signs and balloons so everyone knew which way to go to get to my party.
Then we got to work on setting out the food, favors, buttons, and making the punch:
Our fabulous Thirty One Consultant, Crystal gave a stellar and FUN presentation:
Dressed me up in a TON of bags:
And then the fun began! This was the "left/right" game to determine who would open the envelope to reveal the gender of my kiddo!
Michelle won!
Not to mention got a GORGEOUS new profile photo to use out of the day! I want to thank Ida for doing an AMAZING job on the photography! Again, follow her on Facebook, and also check out her blog! You won't be disappointed!!

We hung some signs on the front door for fun, and soon my guests arrived, including the lovely Mara from Cupcake Therapy with my gorgeous cupcakes!
As soon as everyone arrived, we divvied up the buttons and took pictures of "team pink" and "team blue":
And then headed into the room and got the party started!

Dressed me up in a TON of bags:
And then the fun began! This was the "left/right" game to determine who would open the envelope to reveal the gender of my kiddo!
Michelle won!
And.....
It's a boy! I had so much fun celebrating my future son that day, and I truly love all the girls that came and helped to welcome him!
Not to mention got a GORGEOUS new profile photo to use out of the day! I want to thank Ida for doing an AMAZING job on the photography! Again, follow her on Facebook, and also check out her blog! You won't be disappointed!!
Until later lovebugs,

He or she should be arriving sometime in July, and we will be finding out the gender in approximately three weeks!

I suck at being pregnant...
Well, it is now Wednesday. I am still here, and Natalie is still NOT here. I suppose that is a good thing. She needs to be cooking for as long as possible. Part of me is happy that she is still in my belly getting the nutrients she needs and growing like she needs to be. BUT, part of me is sick and tired.
SICK. and. TIRED.
Tired of sitting on my bum, (it hurts) tired of the useless contractions that I experience about once an hour, (it HURTS) tired of how being in this bed makes my whole body sore: legs, back, sholders. (IT HURTS) I know, I KNOW, I sound like a whiny baby myself, but part of me just wants her to GET HERE already. (or at least make up her mind if she's going to get here or not - so these darn contractions either MEAN something or GO AWAY) Part of me wants to be done with this whole mess and be able to hold my baby girl in my arms, seven weeks early or not. A big part of me just wants to go HOME, and not be stuck in this damn hospital where I don't get to see my pets or my family whenever I want. I want to get it over with and heal and get back to work, and get my little girl home and get her and me back on a NORMAL schedule and get back to my LIFE!
I suck at waiting. I suck at being bored. I suck at being pregnant.

Our Last Hurrah Babymoon
So before I get into the drama of this past weekend, I would like to share with you some pictures from our "Babymoon"!
After I got discharged from the hospital on Monday and rested for the rest of the evening, everything seemed to be fine. On Tuesday I followed up with my OBGYN and they sent me over to my delivery hospital for a non-stress test to make sure I wasn't contracting anymore. They also gave me a steroid shot to help with her lung development in case she does come early, which is very likely now that I have had positive labor. They told me no working, and that I would need to go home and put my feet up, but we decided to go to the game anyway, since it was our two year anniversary (omg!) and since I was feeling good and wasn't going to be doing a lot of walking anyway. It was so fun! Between the three games that we went to, we lost two and won the last one. But it was super cool to sit behind the Cubs bullpen and watch the pitchers warm up! The last game was an AWESOME win, the Cubs were down 8-0 and came back and won 10-9!! Here are some pictures from the games:
I also wanted to share some pictures of the progress of the baby's room. I haven't really gotten to do much, but I will get to the reason behind that in just a little bit.
This is her dresser which was bought for her by my Dad and Stepmom, Lisa. Thank you guys we love you!
This is the first baby gift package that I got from some of my AMAZING customers at work. There is a baby blanket, a few onsies, bottles, two rubber ducks, a rattle, a bottle brush, a few bibs, a stuffed bunny rabbit, and her first piggy bank! They are so sweet! I want to document all my gifts like this!
So, the reason I can't paint the walls or do my wooden letter project is because....
I am BACK. in. the. hospital. My water is now "cracked" and leaking and sent me back into contractions on Sunday morning. The doctors said I wasn't doing enough to be determined to be in active labor, so they have put me on bedrest and pumped me full of fluids (although I am now off of them because they are feeding me) and now I just get to wait. And wait. And wait. There's no going home since there is a chance my water could break, but I don't think I'm going to be having this baby for a few days or MAYBE even a week or so. It's going to suck being cooped up in this hospital bed for days on end, but she's still WAY too early to be coming into this world. And the plus side is that all the nurses are super great and are making sure that I am happy and well taken care of. They are definitely making this easier, because while I enjoy being lazy, I definitely do NOT enjoy being confined to bed, or being away from my pets. I can only hope that either by some grace of God she stays in and they eventually let me go home with strict orders for bedrest, or I have little Natalie here soon. I was hoping for an August baby, but little Natalie is SURE being impatient! Let's just hope that she can stay in a few more days.
I will update soon!

They also came over last Friday and helped us paint her bedroom purple! Doesn't it look fantastic!!?
I printed off the letters that I want above her crib. It reads : Life is but a dream... Right now the dresser is sitting there but it will actually be moved to the back wall under the window. The letters will be painted up on the wall in dark purple. I also have a wooden letter project in the works that unfortunately I can't work on at all right now.
