My Husband Rocks Vol. 7

No husband is perfect and it doesn’t really matter. What matters is how I set myself up to think about him. If I focus on his failures, his annoyances, or ways in which I’ve felt hurt by him, then I will interact with him as a hurt and frustrated and disappointed wife. That makes for miserable living for me and my husband and those around us. But if I focus on his strengths, his potential, and the ways in which I feel blessed by him, then I will interact with him as a forgiving, blessed, and contented wife. And there’s no greater need a man has than to feel respected by his wife. If he feels like all he does is hurt, disappoint, and frustrate, then the same atmosphere and the same actions will be perpetuated. But if he feels that his wife can be happy and responsive regardless of his shortcomings, he feels respected and empowered. Then a positive atmosphere is perpetuated and actions, once destructive, can improve in an environment that is rich for cultivation and growth into deepened respect and intimacy."

Before we get started I wanted to take a moment to introduce a new facet of My Husband Rocks! MHR Sundays will now have co-hosts! Starting next weekend I will be joined by some very special ladies who also have a lot of love for their husbands/significant others! Be sure to check in next week, when Lacey from Little Miss Nerd Girl will be joining me!

Often I talk about what my husband does for our family, but I hardly ever talk about what he doesn't do for us. Now, before we get too far ahead, this is the GOOD stuff.

He doesn't drink.
He doesn't go out and party.
He doesn't do drugs.
He doesn't lie, or cheat, or steal.
He doesn't gamble or indulge in irresponsible behavior.
He isn't lazy or unmotivated.

And for that, he rocks.

'Nuf said!

Baby Cameron: Bump Photos

Baby Cameron is growing like a weed! At my last ultrasound they said he is weighing about 9 ounces, which now will be a little bit more than that. I get another ultrasound at 27 weeks and I look forward to posting about that.

I see pregnant bloggers fill out little surveys about baby, so I thought I would do that about once a month (since every week is a little bit of overkill and I don't have time for that!)

Here goes:

How far along? 24 weeks 1 day (I don't have a picture for 24 weeks yet though, so that will go up next time!)

Total weight gain/loss: So far just 7 lbs or so.

Maternity clothes? Yes. Pants definitely - I started wearing those a few weeks ago. I'm still trying to fit into normal shirts but I won't be able to do it for much longer!

Stretch marks? Thankfully no, but I have about 5 from last time. I'm hoping that I don't get too many more!

Symptoms: Does exhaustion count? Seriously, tired ALL. THE. TIME. And a tad of nausea here and there, but nothing too bad. Heartburn like CRAZY.

Sleep: It's starting to get more uncomfortable sleeping at night, and I miss sleeping on my belly!

Best moment this week: Hubby getting to feel baby move for the first time. He didn't seem too impressed but I'm hoping he starts to like it more!

Have you told family and friends? Yes, everyone knows! It would be a little hard to keep it a secret at this point!

Miss anything? Normal clothes, having energy, sleeping well, and not having heartburn!!

Movement: Man feels like baby is doing summersaults in there half the time! Lots of kicking and punching!

Food Cravings: Ice cream (chocolate), Chocolate milk, chocolate candy, Starbursts, Wheat thins, Fruit, pickles, (Yes I'm a stereotypical preggo!) Thin Mints, and also an adversion to red meat. I'd much rather have salad, seafood (no sushi or salmon though - I'm talkin crabmeat YUM) or chicken lately. Also spicy food: buffalo chicken, salsa, hot sauce on tacos, etc.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really, I just stay away from anything that looks like it might make me icky.

Have you started to show yet? Oh yes. It has been obvious for weeks now!

Baby is a: Bouncing baby boy!! Cameron Glenn =)

Belly Button in or out: It's starting to get shallower, but still in for now.

Wedding rings on or off? Still on. I kept them on all the way through delivery with Natalie so hopefully I will be able to do that with this one as well. I don't know how I would feel if I couldn't wear them!!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Ask my hubby and he would probably say moody, but other than having no sleep and being cranky I think I'm still a pretty happy camper. My Natalie keeps me smiling!

Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound and getting to see Cameron on screen again! We can't afford a 4D ultrasound, but it will be nice to see his little nose again, and compare it to our girls!

There you have it! Everything you wanted (or didn't want) to know about my growing little boy!! Look for another update April 25th!

Until later lovebugs,

Mani Monday

I am naming this look "Spring with a Touch of Snow" because that's what's been happening around here lately! Ugh, it feels like winter is never going to be over, they are calling for more snow today, and ALL I WANT IS SPRINGTIME! I want an Easter Egg Hunt with my daughter in our backyard for Easter. I want warm sunshine, and I am SICK on snow!!

::steps off soapbox::

Ok here are the colors:

Here's how it turned out!

I really like how the glitter is so subtle. The only thing I didn't like was how thick the glitter coat was, so it ended up smearing really easily, and right after finishing these photos I had to redo my pointer finger! Ugh. But it's still very pretty and I will definitely be wearing the lilac color again!!

Linking up with Vicki, Tara, and Heather! Thanks girls for inspiring me!

See you later lovebugs!

My Husband Rocks Vol. 6

I got this idea from a blog I read almost two years ago when I first started my blog. It was called The Great Adventure. Basically how it works is this:

Every Sunday, I will be posting a story, or photo, or quote about how and why my husband rocks! And I invite you to do the same!

::Taken from Katy Lin's blog::

If you would like to join in on My Husband Rocks, just write a post about how your husband/significant other ROCKS and why! Then mosey on back here and link your post with mine with the tool at the bottom! It's that easy and fun!

This week, I want to be honest. This week was and is a hard week for us. We are struggling financially, and taking little things out on each other. The little things are starting to pile up like they do from time to time, and so things between haven't been so good this week.

But, as I sit here thinking about what to write, it comes to mind that no matter what we are going through, I know he is here to stay. And I know, that no matter how frustrated we get at each other, neither one of us have any intention of leaving. That security, no matter how small (or large) it may seem, is why my husband rocks this week.

Here's to a better one next week!

Gender Reveal Party: The Details

I had so much fun at this party, and my wonderful friend Ida took pictures for me! Click here to visit her Facebook page, she is amazing! Tell her I sent you and say hello!

Without further ado, here is my party!

The day started with hanging signs and balloons so everyone knew which way to go to get to my party.

Then we got to work on setting out the food, favors, buttons, and making the punch:

We hung some signs on the front door for fun, and soon my guests arrived, including the lovely Mara from Cupcake Therapy with my gorgeous cupcakes!

As soon as everyone arrived, we divvied up the buttons and took pictures of "team pink" and "team blue":

And then headed into the room and got the party started!

Our fabulous Thirty One Consultant, Crystal gave a stellar and FUN presentation:

Dressed me up in a TON of bags:

And then the fun began! This was the "left/right" game to determine who would open the envelope to reveal the gender of my kiddo!

Michelle won!

And.....

It's a boy! I had so much fun celebrating my future son that day, and I truly love all the girls that came and helped to welcome him!

Not to mention got a GORGEOUS new profile photo to use out of the day! I want to thank Ida for doing an AMAZING job on the photography! Again, follow her on Facebook, and also check out her blog! You won't be disappointed!!

Until later lovebugs,

On My Heart

I will be linking up with Amanda @ A Royal Daughter for today's On My Heart post. Amanda's blog and the way she lives her life inspires me, which is what this post is all about.

I don't know about you, but I spend a lot of time daydreaming. In this pinterest-inspired world, there is a lot of information out there and a lot of false hopes being put out there.

If only I was a little more domesticated, if only I did more projects, if only I could sew/cook/clean/bake/take care of my kids like she can. Hey, I can make that! Hey, I can do that! Hey, I can paint that!

I wish I had more money, I wish I had more time, I wish...I wish...I wish.

I admit, more days than not I get sucked into it.

Then, as I listened to a song called "Miracle" by Michael Tolcher, I realized that instead of wishing, I should be doing.

So today, I urge you to put aside your wants, focus on your here and now, and make YOUR world YOUR miracle.

Until later lovebugs,

Rachael

Mani Monday

This week I wanted to show off my nails from my gender reveal party! They were so cute, and I didn't even really try all that hard!

I painted my nails a base of pink, and then painted blue and white stripes on top. It turned out really great!

Linking up with Vicki, Tara, and Heather! Thanks girls for inspiring me!

See you later lovebugs!
