Weekend Planning Blog Hop

So, this weekend is going to be a little bit of good, with a little bit of sad!

Friday:
Finish dishes and wash bottles
Work at 5

Saturday:

Organize bills
Plan Couch to 5k training
Finish planner with daily cleaning duties
Pack baby bag
Drop Natalie off for an ENTIRE day stay with her Nan (great-grandmother)
Work at 4 until 12

Sunday:

Nascar race in Dover!!
Pick up Natalie and go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Jets game!

Ugh! I don't want to leave Natalie for almost an ENTIRE 24 hours, but that's the only way we can go to the Nascar race we were invited to. I know she will be perfectly fine because she's the BEST BABY in the whole wide WORLD, but I still don't know how I'm going to be away from her for that long! On the plus side, an ENTIRE night of uninterrupted sleep is JUST what the doctor ordered!

What are you doing this weekend? Tell me and link up with My Happy House

We are family...

As you know, we had our annual Repp Family (my Dad's side of the family) picnic this past weekend, and Natalie got to meet a very special person:

Her great-grandmother Elaine Grow. Natalie is named after her, as her middle name is Elaine. It was very emotional for me, because I love them both very much. Grandmother turned 89 this year, so I hope that she can be around for a few more so that Natalie has time to grow up a little so that she will know and remember her.

Here are a few more photos from the day:

Clockwise: Beth, Stephanie, me, Dana, Brad

The aunts. Clockwise: Janet, Martha, Marian, Elaine (their mom)

The newly engaged couple, Dana and Jim.

Natalie napping on Martha. She was tuckered out!!

It was an awesome day. =)

Changes...

As you can see I simplified my blog quite a bit today. I really like it, and think this is the way I will keep it from now on. I hope you like it too!

Halloween Planning

So, I totally think that my daughter is too young to go trick-or-treating, and we don't really have a Halloween party to go to (because we are lame lol) but I really want to get the munchkin a costume!

This is where I need your help! I can't decide between four costumes. I will tell you which ones are my favorite and which ones are Hubby's, and which ones we don't necessarily care for:

1. The cupcake

Mike doesn't really care for this one, and I am in love with it. It comes with pants and a long sleeve top so I know she will be warm.

2. The "lovebug"

This is the one that we decided on in the store, but I'm not really sold on it. The 0-6 mo size is kinda bulky and Natalie is small so I'm worried it's going to swallow her.

3. The monkey

Hubby really likes this one, he thinks it's funny because sometimes we call Natalie "scrunchy monkey". I'm not against this one.

4. The strawberry

I love, love, LOVE this! But when Hubby saw it in the store, he just kept walking away.

What do you think? Which one? =)

Thanks for your help!!

Wicked Wednesday (Which is code for a failed Tackle It Tuesday)

Today I was off work with the hubby and ended up feeling pretty energetic, so what better to do than clean and tidy up and so........

I cleaned these. (ceiling fans)

And then I cleaned this. (NASTY trash can)

Then I cleaned these (sorry about the HORRIBLE photo of my hardwood floors)

Then, I decided to be a good wife and make THIS:

and these:

Chicken and stuffing skillet , and glazed carrots. So yummy and just screamed "fall" to me. Then I lit my pumpkin spice candles and did THIS:

Football and Fall - my favorite combination =) And now my table is officially ready for Thanksgiving!

And if that wasn't enough, THEN I did this:

Right now I'm putting a certain little person to bed...

Tomorrow I'm going to be cutting up these:

And organizing them in these:

But right now, I'm going to bed. It's been a long, but wonderful day!

Tomorrow: Laundry - eew. Maybe I'll just stay in bed!

Two Months Old!

Dear Natalie,

Yesterday you were two months old! Today you had your two month check up with your pediatrician, and you are exactly nine weeks old!

This month we have experienced alot! We got through the day you were supposed to come into this world, and you were exactly six weeks and four days old that day!

When you were born you weighed 4lbs even. At your one month checkup, you weighed 5lbs 13oz. Today at your two month checkup you weighed 8 lbs 3 and 1/2 oz! You are getting SO big! At your one week checkup you were 18 1/4 inches long. At your two month checkup you were 20 and 1/2 inches long.

Last month you were drinking 2 oz of Enfamil Enfacare formula every 3 hours. This month, we switched you to Enfamil Newborn, and you drink 4oz every 3-5 hours! You are still really good about sleeping and have even started sleeping longer at night, from about 12 or 1 am until 7 or 8 am, and then you go right back to sleep for another 2-3 hours! We are getting better with your burping: you seem to like it better and burp easier if I put you up over my shoulder to burp you.

You are still wearing newborn sleepers, 0-3 mo onesies, and newbown sized diapers. You have officially outgrown ALL of your preemie clothing! The newborn sizes are starting to fit you better and some things are actually starting to fit you really well! I'm starting to think you're not going to stay in newborn clothes much longer!

We figured out this month that the nasal congestion you were having was from you getting excited or worked up and snorting some of your bottles up into your nasal cavity. Not uncommon to happen, and it's totally fine. It doesn't seem to bother you, because you never cry when it happens.

You had baby acne like CRAZY this month! It was all across your cheeks and your forehead and even some on the back of your neck! But, Daddy and I worked really hard, bathing you every day, to get rid of it, and I am happy to say that it is almost gone! If you are anything like your Mama and Daddy, this will not be the last time that you have to deal with acne, sweetie. Mama's sorry!

We have also unfortunately found out that you have a herniated umbilical cord. It's not a BIG deal, and it is common in preemies to have this. It just means that your belly button is sticking WAY out and it looks a little funny right now. It should fix itself by the time you are one or two, but if it hasn't by the time you turn five, we will have to do surgery in order to fix it. Again, not a BIG deal, but I really hope it goes back to normal on it's own!

You are following things alot more with your eyes this month, and you are doing AMAZING with holding your head up! We are going to focus on "tummy time" alot more this month, and continue to learn to put weight on your legs, which you ALSO love to do! You have also started to "talk" a little bit, and I think it is absolutely ADORABLE when you do this with your binky in your mouth (which you LOVE by the way!) and am currently trying to get you to do it so I can record it!

You have also started to smile a little bit, but it's mostly when you are falling asleep or when you have just eaten. You scrunch up one side of your face in this looks that says "what THE?" and Mama cracks up every time! You have also started to find your hands, and I have caught you a few times with your thumb in your mouth! I think you MIGHT be a thumbsucker, even though you LOVE your binky!

You are just so cute I can't stand it! You have grown so much in just one month, and I'm a little sad at how fast it's going by! But I am enjoying every minute with you, and Mama and Daddy love you more and more every day! We hope that you love us just as much! We can't wait to see what this next month brings, especially because you seem to be developing quite fast! I can't wait to decorate for fall and start to dress you in your cute little long sleeve outfits, and start planning our Halloween costume!

Ten Year Anniversary and Football

Before I get down to business I just want to say a few things:

1. I will never forget where I was, this day, ten years ago. I was sitting in French class and we turned on the tv just in time to see the second plane hit the second tower, and then watched in horror for pretty much the rest of the day. At the time, I was a junior in high school and selfishly all I could think of was how PISSED I was, because that means that our class trip to Paris was going to get cancelled. (they cancelled all international flight)

2. I cannot put into words the emotion I feel when I see the memorial. So I won't. I'll just show you a photo.

Beautiful. I will go - soon. (Probably the next time hubby and I head up for a game)

Ok, down to business!

FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!!! The hubby and I had an amazing time at the game, it was crazy, fun, emotional, and just an all around AWESOME time.

Tailgating with our new friends (old friends to Hubby as he's been talking to them on the Jets blog and on twitter) was really, really fun. And we finally have an updated Jets photo of us!

The pregame ceremonies were really cool, and being in the same stadium as George W. Bush was pretty darn cool.

The halftime show was emotional and heartbreaking and touching all at the same time. The maglights are flashlights held by friends and family that were lost in the tragedy, and is in the exact measurements of the twin towers. In the center are two searchlights representing the towers themselves.

Here's a better picture from a stock photo from Google. (You can't really see the searchlights - that was taken with Hubby's camera)

Final score:

Here we are celebrating our V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!

And in front of the stadium after we left with it all lit up behind us (Hubby insisted on this one, and I believe we took about 4 photos before we got one he was satisfied with)

And just because I could, I posed for this little jem:

But of course, we couldn't leave without something for our little munchkin!!

Until next time Meadowlands/Metlife Stadium! We shall see you soon, because you are HOME =)

My Husband Rocks and Weekend Planning

First things first - my husband ROCKS.

The reason I have this week actually happened tonight while I was working. And it has to do with our daughter. We had noticed that she hadn't been feeling too good this week, and today she was super fussy, and let me tell you that is COMPLETELY unusual for my baby. Buffalo Wild Wings during a WVU game? Slept right through it. Bowling alley during 99 cent game night? Slept RIGHT through it. She is just like her Mama (if I do say so myself!) she can sleep through almost ANYTHING, even thunderstorms. So, we knew that something was wrong, but I had to be at work. Hubby called me at work to let me know he was taking her in to the doctors because her belly button is sticking out and he was worried that this was another symptom for something that might be serious.

Yep. My hubby called everyone he knew, to try and get a ride to take our daughter to be looked at. Because he ROCKS.

Turns out, she has an umbilical hernia, which is fairly common, especially in preemies. He said it was nothing to worry about, just to try and limit her stress by catching her quickly when she cries and soothing her when she's trying to push out air or poo. It should go away on it's own, but if it's still there when she turns five (JEEZ I don't want to think about that yet!) she will have to have surgery to correct it. So, hopefully it will go away on it's own.

Now on to our first football weekend planning: SO EXCITED!

My Saturday Project

So this weekend I took some time and cleaned up our basement. We have alot of stuff that needs to be up off of the floor because our basement floods when it rains alot. It needs to be organized a bit more because it's not QUITE where I want it, but it's way better than what it was. Here are the before and afters:

View of the washer and dryer -

View from the basement door -

It took me about 45 minutes, and I feel quite accomplished! Have a great holiday weekend everyone!
