My Husband Rocks: The Return Vol. 5

I got this idea from a blog I read almost two years ago when I first started my blog. It was called The Great Adventure. Basically how it works is this:

Every Sunday, I will be posting a story, or photo, or quote about how and why my husband rocks! And I invite you to do the same!

No husband is perfect and it doesn’t really matter. What matters is how I set myself up to think about him. If I focus on his failures, his annoyances, or ways in which I’ve felt hurt by him, then I will interact with him as a hurt and frustrated and disappointed wife. That makes for miserable living for me and my husband and those around us. But if I focus on his strengths, his potential, and the ways in which I feel blessed by him, then I will interact with him as a forgiving, blessed, and contented wife. And there’s no greater need a man has than to feel respected by his wife. If he feels like all he does is hurt, disappoint, and frustrate, then the same atmosphere and the same actions will be perpetuated. But if he feels that his wife can be happy and responsive regardless of his shortcomings, he feels respected and empowered. Then a positive atmosphere is perpetuated and actions, once destructive, can improve in an environment that is rich for cultivation and growth into deepened respect and intimacy."

This week, I just want to go simple this week, and just say that I love him. He has done so much for me this past week, between letting me indulge in pregnancy cravings, not bugging me about the house not being clean and the dishes not getting done, and just being supportive of everything. He let me go to bed early two nights in a row, because I was exhausted, and even though he complained a little, I know he did it because he knew how TIRED I was.

He's amazing, and I love him, and appreciate all the little things he does for me!

Little Miss Natalie

You were looking at a photo of Mommy's tummy and spelled out the letters I was holding "B-O-Y" and then pointed and said "baby!" I am pretty sure you're excited about being a big sister!

You love pretty much anything to do with Daddy. You wear his hats, and apparently - his shoes!

P.S. - You are also starting to be such a camera ham!

You are starting to sing! I catch you singing Twinkle, Twinkle and also your ABCs! You are one smart cookie!

You ate an entire cupcake and LOVED it! Add to that an Oreo, dunked in milk and everything!

Your Daddy and I love when you run back and forth between us and give us hugs!

You have been very cuddly with Mommy lately, wanting to lay on me to watch tv with your bottle/sippy cup. Mommy looks forward to Saturday morning cartoon cuddle time!

You are such a big girl, always wanting to be independent! You have started to learn to walk down stairs by youself, and you walked around the Outlet mall holding Mommy's and Daddy's hands! It was so sweet, and so grown up!

P.S. - Those pigtails KILL me! You look so cute with your hair in them!

Mommy and Daddy love you more and more every day!

Row Merrily my beauty,

Mommy

Mani Monday with Guest Mrs Y!

Today for Mani Monday I have an awesome tutorial for you from a good bloggy-friend of mine, Mrs. Y! She is great and needs no introduction at all! Here she is!

Hi I’m Mrs. Y and I am guest posting for Rachael today, thanks Rachael for allowing me to steal your blog. You can find me at my blog:

Today’s guest post is about a butterfly manicure. Rachael and I met through my sister and started talking on IG (Instagram) with each other. She likes the manicures I do so I thought that I would do a butterfly manicure today.

I have some pictures of the mani to show you.

The above is the first time I did this design. I used an orange polish.

I have yet to clean up so my apologies. I use a concealer brush dipped in acetone to clean up. Makes it easier. The polishes I used in the video are: Zoya in Charla, Wet N Wild in 424A and 449C (black and white). The polishes I used before were the Wet N Wild in white and black and Sephora Burst of Mango Cream. The nail art brush I used is Winning Nails by World #306 Nail Art, from Sally’s Beauty supply. And the dotting tool I got from Sephora’s website. But like I said you can use a toothpick. Huge thanks to Rachael for letting me take over her blog today. Hope you guys liked my guest post. And if you want to find me you can at my blog.

Mrs. Y

Isn't she great?! And that manicure is fantastic! I decided to attempt this myself, and was only bold enough to do one nail on each hand. While I don't think mine look near as good as hers, I'm going to attempt it again someday and hopefully do it a little better! Here's my take:

Here is a better shot of the color, which is a GORGEOUS multi-prismic shade of blue/purple, and the detail of my nail:

Not bad right? It's a super cute idea, and I'm loving it!

Go visit her and send her some love from me!

Linking up with Vicki, Tara, and Heather! Thanks girls for inspiring me!

See you later lovebugs!

My husband rocks this week for his patience and indulgence in me. I had a BLAST at my Thirty-One party and am hopefully going to be able to get my baby bag, and best of all I got to reveal this:

It's a BOY!! Baby Cameron Glenn will be joining our family this summer, and we couldn't be happier! My Hubby was so excited he actually did a fist pump at the anatomy ultrasound! He is psyched! And so am I!
