My Husband Rocks Friday #5

I got this idea from a blog I read almost two years ago when I first started my blog called The Great Adventure. Basically how it works is this:

Every other Friday, I will be posting a story, or photo, or quote about how and why my husband rocks! And I invite you to do the same!

**************************************************************************

No husband is perfect and it doesn’t really matter. What matters is how I set myself up to think about him. If I focus on his failures, his annoyances, or ways in which I’ve felt hurt by him, then I will interact with him as a hurt and frustrated and disappointed wife. That makes for miserable living for me and my husband and those around us. But if I focus on his strengths, his potential, and the ways in which I feel blessed by him, then I will interact with him as a forgiving, blessed, and contented wife. And there’s no greater need a man has than to feel respected by his wife. If he feels like all he does is hurt, disappoint, and frustrate, then the same atmosphere and the same actions will be perpetuated. But if he feels that his wife can be happy and responsive regardless of his shortcomings, he feels respected and empowered. Then a positive atmosphere is perpetuated and actions, once destructive, can improve in an environment that is rich for cultivation and growth into deepened respect and intimacy."

My Husband Rocks this week because he lets me indulge myself. You see, we are going to be getting our taxes back soon (I got my W2 this week, and he has had his since the first of January) so we have begun talking about what we are hoping to do with the money. We want to put money back for rent. We want to get new tires for the car. And he wants a new TV (although this benefits me as well) and a new xbox. (also benefits me) Now, the reason I am excited about this has alot to do with my weight loss goals. We are getting....

A Kinect!

I am SUPER excited, because this means that I can get these:

I can't wait!! This will make it SO much easier to get my cardio in on the days when I can't get out to run, or it is too cold (or too hot come summertime) to take Natalie running with me!

I am also going to be talking him into letting me get just a few things for myself - mainly, these:

I love Vera Bradley bags, and I have been lusting after this pattern for almost a year, AND it's on SALE right now!

And this Mommy Necklace from Simple Starfish. I want this necklace so bad it hurts =) It's already in the right colors and everything! (At least, if that's November's birthstone and not April's - I'm a November baby. Hubby is October - pink - and Natalie is July - red ruby)

We are also going to be getting a few things for the house that include this:

Hopefully they aren't sold out!

I can't wait!!

My husband rocks!
